We would be delighted if you were to visit our church.  You would receive a very warm welcome.

Hackthorn lies about 7 miles north of Lincoln. The village consists of many traditional limestone and clay pantile houses running down to the beck, which flows from the lake at Hackthorn Hall, a Georgian mansion set in fine grounds and parkland.

St Michael and All Angels stands in a beautiful setting in the grounds of Hackthorn Hall and is popular for weddings. We have two delightful venues for receptions, the Village Hall and Hackthorn Hall gardens. The church was built in the 1840s and has fine masonry and carving inside and out. We love our church and try to look after it to a high standard.

The church is usually open daily from 10.30 am to dusk and we have visitors from far and wide writing lovely comments in our visitors' book. There is a fine restored historic organ. Our Millennium project saw the acquisition and installation of six bells in the church, at last fulfilling its designer's intention. This was a venture that united the village and has led to an increase in the use of the church and in our congregation.

The excellent local Church of England Primary School, with a roll of nearly 60, has a strong Christian ethos and is much in demand; it is a great asset to the village. End-of-term services and the School Harvest Festival are held in church.

Our services are usually traditional, neither evangelical nor high church, but we are very open to alternative forms of worship. We have willing volunteers who help with services, leading intercessions, reading the lessons and playing the organ. On the practical side, volunteers help by making coffee after the services, helping to keep the churchyard in good order, as well as arranging flowers and ringing the bells. We have improved our facilities with the addition of a kitchen area and lavatory.

We are fortunate that the gardens of the Hall are opened  in aid of the church bringing many visitors to our lovely village and church.
